Today is another day to hold on to the carefree spirit of summer with the Abbot Kinney Festival, a street party filled with live music, food and craft booths, and—among the 150,000 visitors descending on the boulevard—the eccentric mix of crazies that make Venice what it is.
Our A+R location at 171 Abbot Kinney will be open during the festival hours, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. We’ve also donated gift cards to 8 of the 100 Mystery Grab Bags that will sell for $100 each, plus enter you into a drawing for an even larger prize (it requires a truck to take home). Inside each bag will be goodies and services worth twice that and more, supplied by from Abbot Kinney merchants. Look for the official AK Fest table to buy and enter.
This is the 27th installment of the annual festival and it has apparently become so big and so popular that it’s now the largest of its kind in the country. The free community event actually serves as more than a great excuse to have fun and market Abbot Kinney. The nonprofit entity behind it, spearheaded by the street’s merchants, also benefits great local organizations, among them the Venice Skate Association, Venice Arts, 826LA and nearby schools.
Check out the official FB page for information on parking, entertainment and more. See you there!
