Can design be good design if it is not sustainable and beautiful?
Internationally acclaimed designer David Trubridge answers this as part of his latest Hui, a 6-city US tour kicking off at A+R on April 28. Join us to gather, learn and share in this exploration on aesthetics, design and the environment.
A hui is Māori for social gathering, and a nod to the myths, legends and allure of New Zealand, longtime home to the Brit-born designer and geographical muse to his iconic lighting, furniture and jewelry.
David’s “Beauty Matters” talk transcends his own work, emphasizing broader aesthetics in design, and its past and present relevance in a modern world increasingly depending on environmental consciousness.
Receive 20% off all David Trubridge lighting during the events, and a chance to win a light or a signed copy of David’s epic coffee table book So Far.
#BeautyMattersHui event is open to the public and trade on April 28, from 7-8 p.m.
A trade-only session takes place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and is approved by the national arm of AIA for 2 LU|HSW credits.
To attend either session, kindly firstname.lastname@example.org.
A+R is thrilled to play host to this event with partners AIA/LA, Wakanine and Light SoCal, as well as the support of friends at Spy Valley Wine and Mulberry Love Organic Juice.
